Vietnam's map

It was a very nice water puppet show. I always wanted to see how Vietnamese people lived in the past and the show described their life vividly. Among the places that I've visited, I was most impressed by the museum of ethonology and the temple of literature. My team did quite well in the experimental exam. They struggled with the theoretical exam. But overall, I think they did pretty well.

In my opinion, the experimental exam was very interesting yet long and in some way challenging. The students had to work very fast to complete the exam. To prepare our students for the experimental exam, we had a training course for a week at the university so they could learn how to operate the instruments that they had never seen before. The exams were very hard but I think that is how a competition is supposed to be. There are many things that we can learn from this Olympiad, from simplest things like picking up participants at the airport and having a variety of food options to how to organize the exams. Everything has been going very smoothly here and we hope that we can organize the next IPhO as well as Vietnam has been doing. We don't know how many medals we will get but I think the most important thing is to enjoy the country.

We have been enjoying our stay in Vietnam so far. The food is pretty similar to ours. The theoretical exam was difficult so we just told our students to try their best for the experimental part. The problems were really interesting, very practical and relevant to Vietnam. We usually got bronze medals in previous IPhO but I'm hoping for something better this year.
Team leader of France: Florence Robine and Catherine Velay
We thought that the theoretical exam was very long and difficult, our students had to spend a lot of time for the first question. However, they did a lot better in the experimental exam. This means a great deal in term of encouraging and enhancing our students' confidence. In our opinion, IPhO is a great opportunity for people in the field to exchange physics teaching and learning techniques. It also gives our students a chance to learn from and compete with others from different countries, to be aware of their capability and to create motivation for themselves. The 39th IPhO organization has been going really well. We would like to say thank you to the host country, the volunteers, guides and organizers. We want to let them know that Vietnam has left us profound feelings and impressions.

The experimental exam was easier than the first one but there were still some problems that our students didn't have enough time to solve. Overall I think we did a pretty good job. I think Vietnam is a nice place with very kind and friendly people. I love Vietnam so far. I wish I could stay longer here and I would come back to Vietnam if I had a chance.
