The 39th International Physics Olympiad, IPhO 2008, will be held in Hanoi, Vietnam, from July 20 to 29, 2008. The event is being co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Training and the Vietnamese Physical Society. Hanoi National University of Education has been selected as the main executing institution for the organization of IPhO 2008.
On behalf of the IPhO 2008 Organizing Committee, I would like to invite leaders and contestants from all over the world to participate in the competition. In addition, it will be a great pleasure for us to welcome interested observers and visitors with their teams to Vietnam.
IPhO 2008 provides a great opportunity for young people to demonstrate their abilities in Physics, to exchange knowledge and to enhance cross-cultural contacts in high-school education. Coming to IPhO 2008, they will have opportunities to make new friends, to visit a peaceful and friendly country, and to discover the fascinating culture of our country.
